Polipapers

It is a platform developed in OJS (Open Journal System), for the management and open publishing of electronic journals edited by the university.

The editors of scientific journals, when they are also members of the UPV, can benefit from the advantages of publishing their journal on PoliPapers. The process begins by requesting the UPV Publishing House to host the journal on the platform. If the journal meets the requirements, it receives the approval of the editorial committee and the Vice-Rectorate for Research and begins its journey in PoliPapers.

The Library’s role focuses mainly on four areas of action:

Personalized advice

The library offers personalized advice to any user of the platform (editors, authors, reviewers, etc.) throughout the entire article editing process, from the submission phase, through the review phase and finally to the publication phase.

Platform support and maintenance

The library supports and maintains the Open Journal System (OJS) platform under the brand PoliPapers. Carrying out different actions: software updates, study and analysis of new developments, implementation of new functionalities as OJS releases them, creation of journals, customization in the configuration of each journal.

Various journal activities

The Library performs journal management such as obtaining the DOI for each article, checking the degree of originality of articles with the anti-plagiarism tool, or locating citing articles, all on the CrossRef platform. Also long-term preservation tasks are carried out.

Visibility and impact

The Library manages the inclusion of PoliPapers journals in the main databases (Web of Science, Scopus, etc.) as well as in specialized databases (Avery, zbMath, EconLit, MathSciNet, MLA, FSTA, Veterinary Science Database, Business Source Elite, Business Source Premier, Academic Search Premier, Fuente Academica Plus, ICYT, ISOC, etc.) or resources such as Dialnet or REDIB.

Likewise, permanent communication is maintained with editorial policy portals such as Sherpa/Romeo or Dulcinea, regularly informing them of the licenses for use of each journal; with directories such as Ulrich’s, DOAJ, ErihPlus or Latindex so that they include PoliPapers journals; with evaluation portals such as CIRC, MIAR or the FECYT Quality Seal, requesting in each case the quality endorsement.

In addition, a Google Scholar profile is created and maintained for each journal and, thanks to OJS interoperable communication protocols, articles published in PoliPapers journals are regularly collected by Google Scholar, thus ensuring their visibility in the global scientific arena.

The institutional repository RiuNet and PoliBuscador also collect the contents of PoliPapers, thus bringing the production closer to the UPV university community.
