On the 175th anniversary of the death of Mary Shelley (1797-1851), we would like to recall the author and her work “Frankenstein or the modern Prometheus” considered one of the foundational works of the science fiction genre.
For this purpose, we have carried out a thematic selection that you can find in the study room that includes biographical essays on Mary Shelley’s life and works, different editions of “Frankenstein or the Modern Prometheus”, adaptations to comics and films, as well as film studies on some of these films and on the character of the monster.

La obra, además de haber fijado universalmente una de las imágenes del monstruo moderno, desarrolla varias temáticas todavía vigentes para la filosofía, la ciencia y la sociedad actuales”
