Albertina Tafolla Rodríguez is an outstanding Mexican artist, recognized for her specialization in artist’s books and graphic work. She received her solid artistic training at the University of Guanajuato (Mexico) and later complemented it with an enriching academic exchange at the Faculty of Fine Arts of San Carlos, at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain. Her career has been reflected in numerous exhibitions, both solo and group, in Mexico and other countries, addressing themes that range between femininity and memory. Through her artistic practice, Albertina integrates graphic and visual elements, using materials such as paper and fabric to weave stories that resonate in the viewer who contemplates them.
Albertina Tafolla Rodríguez’s solo exhibition “Hilvanando historias entre telas y papeles” (Threading stories between fabrics and papers) delves into the interconnection of diverse narratives that emerge from the fusion of different textures and formats. Through the technique of the sewn book, the artist transforms the traditional elements of the book into a medium to tell both intimate and collective stories. Each work is a profound exploration of memory and identity, using fabrics and papers selected and manipulated with intention and intelligence;
