Faraday Rocketry will search for that wind window with balloon probes and activate special equipment that can operate in the rain. They will demonstrate, once again, their skill and ingenuity to overcome adversity in what is sure to be an epic launch.
The Origin rocket is approximately 3 meters long, reaches a maximum speed of 2500 km/h (twice the speed of sound) and the estimated apogee is 10km. The rocket is entirely student-built, with in-house manufacturing techniques that have enabled the development of the rocket engine, modular avionics and the at-sea recovery system.
Faraday Rocketry has been looking into space for four years, during which time it has launched five rockets and obtained two victoriesat the European University Rocketry Championship EuRoC. It has become the first Spanish team to achieve this by competing against universities with a larger budget.
Spontaneous generation
It is part of Spontaneous GenerationThe UPV’s pioneering project, with ten years of experience, is the launching pad for interdisciplinary student projects that promotes “learning by doing” and enhances transversal competencies. This year it brings together 3,000 students in a total of 65 teams from various disciplines.
