CREDIT RECOGNITION
CREDIT RECOGNITION
The UPV’s credit recognition system allows the knowledge, competencies, and skills you have already acquired to be incorporated into your academic record, facilitating your academic mobility and preventing you from having to retake courses whose content you already master.
WHAT IS CREDIT RECOGNITION?
The recognition through which the UPV adds credits earned in other academic programs, university activities, professional experience, or higher education to a student’s academic record, provided that there is academic alignment with the target curriculum.
TYPES OF ACHIEVEMENTS FOR WHICH CREDIT RECOGNITION MAY BE REQUESTED
The following types of training and activities may be considered as merits for recognition:
- Official college courses: Courses taken as part of other bachelor’s or master’s degree programs, both in Spain and abroad.
- Advanced Vocational Training Programs (CFGS): Vocational Training (FP), Visual Arts and Design, or Advanced Sports Technician.
- University-Level Non-Degree Programs: Non-degree courses offered by a university or conservatory.
- Work and professional experience: Provided that it is closely related to the competencies associated with the degree.
The recognition of these credits will not include a grade for them; therefore, they will not be counted for the purposes of evaluating the application.
Credit for this section should preferably be awarded for the courses in the curriculum that correspond to external internships, which are included in the relevant courses.
- University Activities (Undergraduate Programs Only): Participation in cultural, athletic, student government, charitable, or community service activities.
APPLICATION DEADLINES
APPLICATION FORM FOR RECOGNITION
- Currently Enrolled Students: Through the intranet (Virtual Secretariat > Requests > Requests for Recognition).
- Students who apply Admission for Continuing Studies: Within the admission application form itself, by clicking the button “Recognition Management” At the UPV, there is a single application period per academic year, prior to the start of the new academic year, which runs from the last week of February to the first week of March.
PROCEDURE
- If there are precedents (if your request matches an already approved rule): an expedited procedure is applied. Once the school verifies your documentation, the request is automatically processed in the same manner as the precedent and is immediately reflected in your academic record.
- If there are no precedents: You can create a new request; however, The credits transferred must cover at least 75% of the content and credits of the course for which the request is made. Once the center verifies your documentation, the request will be forwarded to the professor in charge of the course, who will evaluate whether the course content is equivalent. The Academic Degree Committee (CAT) will submit a proposal to the Credit Recognition Committee, which will decide whether to grant or deny credit recognition.

REVIEW OF PRECEDENTS
They can be viewed via a web assistant for the Student Services Office: Reconnaissance Simulatoror Directly when you submit your online application on the intranet, where the system will allow you to view and select the rules that apply to your prior coursework.
Very important: Verify that the courses listed correspond to those indicated in the table; they must be part of the same curriculum. The year of publication of the curriculum in the BOE is listed at the end of each table.

PROBLEMS WITH REGISTRATION FOR MAJOR-SPECIFIC COURSES
If, when you go to register for the 2026/2027 academic year, you find that there are no spots left in any courses in the track you are currently enrolled in for the 2025/2026 academic year, you must submit a request using the form (please note: one request per course), specifying the track you are currently enrolled in and the course(s) you wish to enroll in, along with the PL groups you are interested in (we recommend that you list more than one option).
DATES: July 18–22, 2026, and we will make a decision before the start of the school year in September, in the order of enrollment.
The link to the form is next
Below, we’ll discuss a few considerations:
Being enrolled in the Project Management course alone does NOT qualify you for a major.
If you weren’t enrolled in a track last year and there are no openings left in the track you want to take, you’ll have to enroll in a different track and apply to switch tracks in January.
