PhD in Marine and Coastal Science and Technology
As established by the applicable regulations, PhD training shall include, in addition to the completion of the PhD thesis, the completion by the PhD student of specific and cross-curricular training activities.
Each training activity is assigned a number of equivalent hours. PhD students must complete a minimum of 600 equivalent hours through the various training activities in order to submit their thesis. Of these, at least 10% (60 hours) must correspond to cross-curricular training courses.
The equivalent hours assigned to each type of activity, as well as the maximum number of equivalent hours that may be recognised, have been established by the Academic Committee of this PhD programme for its students, taking into account whether they are enrolled on a full-time or part-time basis.

Important points to bear in mind:
- Total requirement: PhD students must complete a minimum of 600 equivalent hours before submitting their thesis.
- Cross-curricular training: At least 10% of the total (60 hours) must correspond to cross-curricular training activities.
- Specific activities: The remaining hours must be completed through specific training activities: 540 hours if only the minimum cross-curricular requirement is completed, or 480 hours if the maximum number of recognised cross-curricular hours is achieved.
