Registration and other fees

By way of summary, the most common fees in doctoral studies are as follows:

  • When applying for admission to doctoral studies: If your access degree (master’s degree) is from outside the European Higher Education Area, you will have to pay a fee for the study of the equivalence of your master’s degree (155,22€).
  • At the beginning of each academic year you will have to pay the corresponding registration fee (doctoral academic supervision) (300€).
  • In addition, if you are under 28 years old, you must pay the corresponding school insurance (not including health insurance) (1,12€).
  • In your first registration, a fee is also charged for the opening of your academic record and for the student card (27,34€ + 5,87€).
  • If your admission has assigned you master’s credits as additional training, the price of these credits is the same as the price for the master’s degree in question.
  • Once the thesis is finished, you will have to pay a fee to make the formal deposit of the thesis and start the process to make the defense (143,73€).
  • After defending the thesis you can apply for your doctoral degree, for which you will have to pay a fee (225,20€).

Throughout your doctoral studies you will be able to apply for different types of supporting documents and certificates. Most of them will be free of charge, but the official academic certificates will cost 27,34€.
