• Master’s or PhD students in any area of Computer Science or Telecommunications, as well as Mathematics and Physics.
  • Accepted candidates must maintain active enrollment at UPV as a student for the duration of the internship in Japan.. Absolutely mandatory and non-negotiable.
  • If the TFM or doctoral thesis is submitted before the start of the internship, without renewing the registration with the UPV during the stay, a basic requirement is not fulfilled.
  • Internships are for a minimum of 2 months and a maximum of 6 months.
  • The duration of the internship should be agreed with the NII tutors.
  • NII grant: Approximately 5,700 JPY (36.4 € per day) + medical insurance (depending on the call for applications). There is no transportation allowance.
  • Possibility to apply additionally through the UPV  Erasmus Internshipsas a supplement (700-950/month + transportation allowance).
  • The UPV may propose 2 or 3 candidates depending on the call (two calls per year).
  • Direct requests from students to the NII are not accepted, they must be channeled and supported by the UPV.
  • The Internationalization Service collects student applications and sends them to the NII. The NII makes the final selection from among all the candidates proposed by all the universities with which it has an agreement.
  • Candidates are encouraged to contact the heads of the research groups at the NII to clarify the content, focus or preferred duration of the internship by the NII research teams.
