PhD in Business Administration and Management
As established by the applicable regulations, the PhD programme includes, in addition to the completion of the PhD dissertation, the completion by the PhD candidate of specific and cross-disciplinary training activities.
Each training activity is assigned a number of equivalent hours. PhD students must complete a minimum of 600 equivalent hours through a range of training activities in order to submit their PhD dissertation. Of these, at least 10% (60 hours) must correspond to cross-disciplinary training courses.
The equivalent hours assigned to each type of activity, as well as the maximum number of hours that may be recognised, have been established by the Academic Committee of the PhD Programme, taking into account whether students are enrolled on a full-time or part-time basis.

Important points to bear in mind:
- Total hours requirement: To submit a PhD dissertation, students must have completed at least 600 equivalent hours of training activities, of which at least 10% (60 hours) must correspond to cross-disciplinary training.
- Co-authorship adjustment factor: For publications and conference contributions with more than four authors, a reduction factor of (4 ÷ number of authors) will be applied to the total number of recognised hours.
- Supervision and approval: All publications and conference contributions must be co-authored with the PhD supervisor and be directly related to the PhD research topic in order to be recognised.
- Registration in SENIA: Students must register all training activities on the SENIA platform before requesting formal recognition of the corresponding hours from the Academic Committee (CAPD).
- Mandatory cross-disciplinary training: All newly enrolled students must complete the course Doctoral Training at UPV (10 hours).
- Cross-disciplinary training deadlines: Students are advised to complete the minimum cross-disciplinary training requirement during their first year of full-time study or within the first two years of part-time study.
