Specific and Cross-Curricular Training Activities

As established by applicable regulations, doctoral training shall include, in addition to the completion of the doctoral dissertation, the doctoral candidate’s completion of training activities of a specific and cross-cutting nature.

Each training activity is assigned a number of equivalent hours. Doctoral students must earn a minimum of 600 equivalent hours through the completion of various training activities in order to submit their thesis; of these, at least 10 percent (60 hours) must be from interdisciplinary training courses.

The credit hours assigned to each type of activity, as well as the maximum number of credits recognized, have been established by the Academic Committee of this doctoral program for its students.

  1. How to Use the App: Information about each activity will be managed through the app Thesis Management, in which students must record their contributions and request credit for the hours worked.
  2. Director’s Report: For the recognition of hours, a Preliminary Report on Thesis Supervision (or tutor) evaluating the activity.
  3. SCI Publications: For the evaluation of articles in indexed journals (AF 2), the following will be taken into account: quartile as specified in the magazine (150 hours for Q1 and a minimum of 75 hours for the rest).
  4. Co-authorship: In the specific case of a thesis based on a collection of articles, a document of acceptance from the co-authors who do not hold a doctorate is required, and the student must be listed as first or second place in the authorship category.
