CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR MOBILITY GRANTS FOR FPI-UPV STUDENTS AND/OR STUDENTS UNDER COTUTELLE

The call for applications aims to fully or partially fund the costs associated with conducting research stays at prestigious institutions abroad.

Requirements

  1. Be an active beneficiary of a predoctoral contract under the UPV’s Program for the Training of Research Personnel (FPI) at the time of application and throughout the entire duration of the stay or be a doctoral student who is currently working on their dissertation under a cotutelle agreement in accordance with the requirements established in Royal Decree 99/2011, dated January 28, even if they are not recipients of an FPI-UPV grant. In the latter case, a joint supervision agreement must be signed between the foreign institution and the UPV at the time of application.
  2. Have the research plan for their doctoral thesis approved.
  3. Receive a favorable evaluation from the Academic Committee on the annual report for the 2025–2026 academic year.
  4. FPI-UPV Students: The research stay must be requested through the Thesis Management system and at minimum must have been approved by the thesis supervisor.
    Cotutelle students: The research stay must be included in the schedule proposed in the agreement
  5. For cotutelle students, the following is also required:
  • Both the UPV supervisors and the co-supervisors from the co-supervising institution must be approved by the CAPD and registered in the Thesis Management application.
  • The applicant has not completed the minimum period of stay required by the agreement with his or her co-supervising university.
    Applicants must meet these requirements as of the application deadline and through the end of their stay.

The stay must take place between January 1, 2027, and November 30, 2027

Amount of the Grant

Maximum funding, to cover all expenses associated with the mobility initiative:

  • For students who are recipients of an FPI-UPV predoctoral contract, the maximum grant will be €3,600 for stays in EHEA countries and €4,200 for stays in other countries.
  • For students in a co-supervision arrangement, the maximum grant will be €6,600 for stays in EHEA countries and €7,200 for stays in other countries.

Applications may be submitted from September 16 through November 11, 2026, at 14:00 p.m. (peninsular time).
