PhD in Electronic Engineering
As established by the applicable regulations, PhD training shall include, in addition to the completion of the PhD dissertation, the PhD candidate’s completion of specific and cross-curricular training activities.
Each training activity is assigned an equivalent number of hours. PhD students must complete a minimum of 600 equivalent hours through various training activities in order to submit their PhD dissertation; of these, at least 10 percent (60 hours) must correspond to cross-curricular training courses.
The equivalent hours assigned to each type of activity, as well as the maximum number of hours that may be recognised, have been established by the Academic Committee of this PhD programme for its students.

Important points to bear in mind:
- Total training requirement: To submit a PhD dissertation, students must have completed at least 600 equivalent hours of training activities, of which at least 10 percent (60 hours) must correspond to cross-curricular training.
- Compulsory course: Newly admitted students must complete the course “PhD Programmes at UPV” (10 hours), which is held between November and December.
- Completion period for cross-curricular training: Full-time students are recommended to complete the minimum cross-curricular training requirement during their first academic year, while part-time students should complete it during their first two academic years.
- Activity records: All specific activities must be recorded in SENIA and approved by the Academic Committee of the PhD Programme (CAPD) on the basis of the PhD supervisor’s report.
