PhD in Agricultural Resources and Technologies
As established by the applicable regulations, doctoral training shall include, in addition to the completion of the PhD thesis, the completion by the PhD candidate of specific and cross-curricular training activities.
Each training activity is assigned a number of equivalent hours. PhD candidates must complete a minimum of 600 equivalent hours through the various training activities in order to submit their thesis. Of these, at least 10% (60 hours) must correspond to cross-curricular training courses.
The equivalent hours assigned to each type of activity, as well as the maximum number of equivalent hours that may be recognised, have been established by the Academic Committee of this PhD programme for its students.

Important points to keep in mind:
- Activity Log: PhD candidates must record all their contributions and activities in the institutional repository SENIA. Once they have been registered, PhD candidates must request recognition of the corresponding hours through the Thesis Management platform.
- Validation: The Academic Committees (CAPD), following a report from the thesis supervisor, decide whether to recognise the activity and the corresponding hours, which are then automatically recorded in the doctoral candidate’s activity log.
- Mandatory Cross-Curricular Training: The course “Doctoral Training at the UPV” (10 hours) must be completed during the first year. Enrolment is carried out automatically by the Doctoral School.
- Training Timeline: Full-time PhD candidates are recommended to complete the minimum cross-curricular training during their first year, while part-time PhD candidates should do so during their first two years.
- Mobility Requirement: Research stays at research centres or companies (Activity 7) must be carried out as part of a mobility programme at institutions other than those where the PhD candidate normally conducts their research.
- Certification: For activities such as conferences, research stays or courses, it is essential to submit the corresponding certificate to the CAPD for assessment.
