“The university community is environmentally aware and energy consumption continues to drop every year“

The Universitat Politècnica de València has successfully passed the environmental external audit that has been carried out every year since 2009 when the UPV obtained the seal that certifies that it meets all the requirements established in the international standard ISO 14001:2015 and all the additional requirements of the demanding European EMAS Regulation.
The audit result has been very positive, and as Cristina Martí, head of the UPV Environment Office, explains, “the university community is environmentally aware, and energy consumption continues to drop every year”. The challenges that the UPV faces are the reduction of water consumption, the implementation of renewable energies, and waste reduction.
