Knowledge of other languages is an essential part of the School’s well-rounded education for students. In the workforce, importance is placed not only on having a technical degree but also on mastering one or more languages.
When it comes to participating in exchange programs, it’s very important to focus on language training starting from the 1stbe academic year. It is not uncommon for spots to remain unfilled at prestigious foreign universities because there are no candidates with a sufficient level of language proficiency, especially at French- and German-speaking universities, but also at English-speaking universities when they require high language proficiency levels (B2, C1).

The UPV Language Center provides the university community with various foreign language services (language courses, official exams, language tandems, etc.)
- Official certificates of proficiency
There are numerous recognized official certificates that attest to the different levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. You can view the complete list of official certificates and levels:

In the UPV Language Center You can take various official certification exams, including the ACLES network’s language proficiency tests, which are valid throughout Spain, (usually November–January and June–July), as well as exams from other testing organizations (Cambridge, TOEFL, Alliance Française, Goethe-Institut, etc.)

- Teaching in English
The ETSIE offers English-language sections for some courses in the Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Architecture. Taking courses taught in English earns extra points toward Erasmus+ scholarships.
