On May 23, 2024, the Doctoral School of the Universitat Politècnica de Valencia will celebrate the IX Meeting of Doctoral Students of the UPV. The meeting will take place in the Assembly Hall of the Nexus Building (Building 6G) of the UPV from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

One of the objectives of this activity, which is part of the programme of cross-curricular doctoral training activities, is to present the content of the theses that are being prepared, to exchange information and knowledge between doctoral students and to highlight the value of the doctoral degree in access to the labour market.

A programme has been organised that combines a presentation and round table discussion on Citizen Science and participatory sessions in the form of posters or short oral communications by doctoral students, in which their doctoral thesis project and research advances are reflected.

Registration is free and can be done on-line from March 27th to April 30th.

At the time of registration, the contribution presented must be attached, in PDF format, and following the published indications of rules and format. From among all the contributions presented, an evaluation panel will select 60 posters and 15 3-minute oral presentations.

The selected posters will be exhibited throughout the morning of the Meeting and the authors will explain their content to the jury, and to the rest of the interested participants during the time established in the program.

The afternoon session will be followed by the three-minute oral communications.

Both posters and oral communications may also be presented in English.

The jury, made up of the directors of the 5 chairs collaborating with the event, will select the best poster by area, and the best short oral communication. The public will also be able to cast their vote for the best poster and the best short oral communication. All winners will receive a diploma and a gift.

All registered participants and attendees will also receive a diploma, gifts, and recognition of cross-curricular hours:

  • Attendee: 5 hours
  • Attendee with a poster or oral presentation not selected: 10 hours
  • Attendee with a selected poster or oral presentation: 15 hours

To receive the cross-curricular training hours, you must register in person between 8:30-9:15 a.m. on the day of the Meeting. Lunch will be served at noon.

Participants who have given posters or presentations in previous editions can participate again, but with a different work.
