Asunción Molinos Gordo is an artist and researcher. She won the Sharjah Biennial Prize in 2015 for her project WAM (World Agriculture Museum), represented Spain at the 13th Havana Biennial in 2019, and has exhibited at art institutions around the world. Her work reflects on land use, nomadic architecture, peasant strikes, bureaucracy’s impact on the territory, the transformation of rural labor, biotechnology, and the international food trade. In his artistic practice, he questions the categories that define “innovation” in today’s dominant discourse, exploring different forms of intellectual domination from the urban to the rural. The main focus of his work is the contemporary peasantry, understood not only as food producers but also as cultural agents, responsible both for perpetuating traditional knowledge and for generating new expertise to address current challenges.
