What will you learn?
The objective of the workshop is for each participant to improve their writing skills while exchanging and learning from the way of working and approaching film and the writing processes of their peers. We will create a space for shared learning, far from academic formalism, but with the maximum demand and rigor.
Three basic tasks will be carried out in the course:
A- That each participant, individually or in teams, can initiate a writing project of his or her own.
B- To share with the rest of the processes and problems of writing, generating a space for criticism, analysis and continuous exchange.
C- Perform script analysis of different and distant films that pose specific and powerful dramaturgical approaches.
This course is part of the project “UPV 2026 TRAINING COURSES FOR THE CULTURAL SECTOR”, project of cultural activities of the Universitat Politècnica de València for 2026, in relation to the line of subsidy in direct concession regime, with the code S0063, with the denomination “COLLABORATION WITH THE UNIVERSITIES FOR THE TRAINING OF CULTURAL PROFESSIONALS” of the Generalitat Valenciana.

All those professionals and non-professionals with an interest in film writing who have the desire and need to learn and improve their technique, their vision and their critical spirit in relation to writing and the art of film in a broad sense.
Imparts:
Tomás Aragay Sastre. He studied directing and dramaturgy at the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático (Instituto del Teatro) in Barcelona. Co-writer with Cesc Gay of films such as “Krampack”, “En la ciudad”, “Ficción”, “Blog”, “Blog”, “Una pistola en cada mano” or “Truman”. Blog”, “A Gun in Each Hand” or “Truman”.
He won the Goya Award for Best Screenplay, the Feroz Award and the Royal Academy of Language Award for “Truman” and nominations for Best Screenplay at the Goya Awards in 2000 and 2002 and several awards at international festivals. In 2012 he won the Gaudí Award for best screenplay for “Una pistola en cada mano”. Award that he won again with “Truman”.
He has written for television: “Jet lack” and “T de Terapia” for TV3; “Felix” and “Historias para no contar” for Moviestar.
He is currently developing ideas for a series for Netflix and is in the process of writing a new script for a feature film.
