Classical music, contemporary dance and technology will come together onthursday, may 15, 2025, at 7 pm, at the Auditorium of the Facultat de Belles Arts of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), in a concert starring the UPV Symphonic Band.
The program is divided into two parts. The first part will be dedicated to young talent with a piano recital by four performers: Lucía López Cañada will play theAllegro vivace of Beethoven’s Sonata No. 2, andSoirée de Vienne by Alfred Grunfeld; Carles Rodriguez will addressThe Albaicín by Albéniz; Pablo Raskkin will offerLa Isla Alegre by Debussy; and Marco Reyes will close with theNocturne op. 48 no. 1 by Chopin andGargoyles op. 29 of Liebermann.
The second part of the concert will bring an interdisciplinary proposal with the work“Chapitres”created by Jorge Sastre (music) and Nuria Lloret (text), and based on an emotional journey through the chapters that a person lives after the diagnosis of a serious illness in someone very close. The piece features live narration by Ruth de los Reyes, contemporary dance by the group of the Conservatorio Superior de Danza Nacho Duato with choreography by Carmen Giménez, live electronics by Stefano Scarani and interactive video creations made by students of the Degree in Digital Technology and Multimedia of the UPV.
The program is completed by two works from the symphonic repertoire: a vibrant interpretation of the“Rhapsody in Blue” by George Gershwin with Pablo Frías as soloist pianist, and“Paconchita” by Óscar Navarro.
The concert will be conducted by Francisco José Valero García.
