Tsirú’s journey

A new tourism option focused on Bribri indigenous culture and tradition.

In Costa Rica’s Talamanca region, Bribri indigenous women defend sustainable agroforestry practices. An ancient tradition in one of the few matrilineal societies. The story behind the cultivation of cocoa, the culture and the Bribri women has been collected in the documentary “Tsirú’s Journey”, one of the results of the research project “Improving the tourism product of the Bribri indigenous community (Talamanca, Costa Rica) through the valuation of their Intangible Cultural Heritage”.

The documentary “Tsirú’s Journey” will be presented at the Gandia Campus by the main researcher of the project “Improving the tourism product of the Bribri indigenous community (Talamanca, Costa Rica) through the valuation of its Intangible Cultural Heritage”, Professor Maryland Morant, and the director of the Center for Development Cooperation of the UPV, Llanos Gómez. After the screening of the documentary there will be a round table in which the rest of the researchers who have participated will take part. The session will conclude with a visit to the photographic exhibition that will remain open to the public in the exhibition hall of the university campus until April 26th.
