English to connect, communicate, and project the UPV
The Plan No Borders is an institutional initiative of the Universitat Politècnica de València aimed at promoting the development of English language proficiency and encouraging its effective use in academic, teaching, research, professional and institutional activities of the university.
Coordinated by the Language Center of the UPV, within the framework of the Vice-Rector’s Office for Employment, Lifelong Learning and Languages, the plan responds to a strategic need: to reinforce the role of English as a transversal tool for communication, learning, collaboration, and projection in multicultural environments of a technological university that is increasingly connected to global and international markets.
No Borders promotes the learning, practice, and application of English in real-life university contexts. Its objective is not only to improve the linguistic level of the UPV community, but also to facilitate the natural and functional incorporation of English in teaching, university management, institutional communication, attention to international users, and the professional development of individuals.
Through this plan, the UPV promotes actions aimed at:
- Reinforce the communicative competence in English of the university community.
- support teaching and training initiatives in English;
- favor more accessible and multilingual institutional communication;
- improve the ability of university services to serve and communicate in English;
- facilitate access to language certification;
- generate resources, materials, and experiences that contribute to a more global campus, one that is more inclusive and better prepared.
The No Borders Plan is part of the strategic framework CdL PluS2 the Language Center’s new strategy aimed at strengthening the synergy between People, languages, the University, and the Society. Within this framework, the plan is realized through a series of resources, services, and actions to support and accompany language use and consolidate a multilingual and multicultural environment.
