A UPV team at COP28

The UPV team is made up of Batiste Vidal (Master in Industrial Engineering student), Eva Tortajada (doctoral candidate in the Architecture, Building, Urban Planning, and Landscape Architecture program), José Antonio Gil (Degree in Energy Engineering student), Nuria Ochogavia (Master’s Degree in Industrial Constructions and Installations student) and professor and researcher Tomás Gómez (director of the University Institute for Energy Engineering Research) have traveled to Dubai to participate in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change COP28).

Their trip to the United Arab Emirates, from December 1 to 6, together with the Spanish delegation of MITECO, is aimed at presenting the innovative passive climate control system that won the Climate Generation COP28 competition launched by Fundación Biodiversidad. XALOC. Bioclimatic, fair, and inclusive adaptation for housing conditions the indoor air thanks to the thermal inertia and solar radiation. Its simplicity of construction and low cost make this device an optimal solution for self-construction, thus reducing the energy consumption of the building’s just and inclusive ecological transition.

The UPV team participated on December 2 in the round table “Development of resilient and livable cities.” They also had the opportunity to participate in other events, attend sessions and presentations, and meet with personalities.
