Muntadas. A selection: information and documentation

Coinciding with the appointment of Antoni Muntadas as Doctor Honoris Causa by the Universitat Politècnica de València, the exhibitionMuntadas. A selection: Information and Documentation collects traces of his artistic trajectory.
This selection articulates a series of conceptual stations linked to the work of Antoni Muntadas: posters, catalogs, projections… An angular look at his active and collaborative work over more than five decades;
Since the early 70’s Muntadas began working with video, photography, installation and interdisciplinary projects that questioned the logics of communication in society and contemporary issues. This period marked his commitment to an art that thinks, questions, projects and proposes.
Since then, his production has addressed, with lucidity and constancy, the relationship between power, language, information and perception. Muntadas has developed projects on all continents, always with a research and collaborative vocation. Projects such asThe File Room,Political Advertisement, oAbout Academiahave become fundamental references for understanding the role of art in the dynamics of communication, collective memory and social imaginaries.
The exhibition is dedicated to Antoni Mercader, in recognition of a long relationship of collaboration with Muntadas that extends from 1963 to 2025, as well as his active participation since 2011 as a founding member of the Asociación Archivo Muntadas. Center for Studies and Research (ARXIU/AM).
