SYNOPSIS
In an iconic working-class neighborhood of Barcelona, threatened by a redevelopment plan, construction has begun on an apartment complex. “We wanted to experience the intimacy of a construction site, so we stayed here when this space was still an empty lot where kids played soccer. On this site, we sought a way to live together, get to know one another, and film—in that order—that would allow us to address both the anecdotes of the construction project itself and those it generated in its surroundings; in this everyday life disrupted by the upheaval of demolitions, among its residents, in the neighborhood (in fact, the image of the neighborhood took shape in the cluster of faces that, to our eyes, represented it). In this process, we soon realized that the transformation of the urban landscape also entailed a transformation of the human landscape, and that within this movement, certain echoes of the world could be recognized. “We built a film on these foundations.” (FILMAFFINITY)
