Maria Beneyto to UPV, Writer of the Year 2025

The Universitat Politècnica de València, through the Promotion and Linguistic Normalization Service, has organized several activities at the UPV related to the commemoration of Maria Beneyto as Writer of the Year 2025 of the Acadèmia Valenciana de la Llengua.

Maria Beneyto is one of the most important authors of Valencian literature of the twentieth century, and is a writer who vindicates the freedom and dignity of women.

  • from September 25 to October 2, in the lobby of the Central Library: exhibition “Maria Beneyto: vida ferida de lletra”.“belonging to the Acadèmia Valenciana de la Llengua (Valencian Language Academy).

    • 12.30 h: Inauguration of the exhibition by Carme Manuel, president of the AVL’s Writer of the Year Commission and professor at the University of Valencia.Presentation of the comic book Maria Beneyto, passion for writing of the novels Una dona forta, El riu ve crescut i Al límit de l’absurd; de the compilation of poems translated into English Learning to Howl. Selected Poems of Maria Beneyto and illustrated biography Maria Beneyto, a strong woman. By Carme Manuel and Josep Ballester of the Universitat de València; Marc Senabre from Edicions Bromera, and Vincent Baydal Llibres de la Drassana.
    • 13 h: Reading of poetic and narrative texts by Maria Beneyto by interested persons and the Bromera Foundation for the Promotion of Reading. (Registrations to read: dinamitzacio.spnl@upv.es)
  • October 2, 12 noon, Ágora del Campus de Vera: Game of poetic escapade (scape room) on the play by Maria Beneyto, with La Miranda Teatre. An original and participative adventure game, in which several teams try together to get out of a place in a limited time by solving logic tests and puzzles, finding clues, etc. (Registration: send an email with the name of the team, 3-4 people, and the team members to dinamitzacio.spnl@upv.es.)
