According to the RAE, the concept ‘harassment’ refers, among other things, to the action of “pursuing -without respite or rest- an animal or a person”.
Harassment encompasses the entire pyramid of species in nature. The strongest eats the weakest. We are predators and harassment is one more tool that, since ancient times, both animals and humans have used to get their prey. In the case of animals, to feed themselves, and in the case of humans, to achieve their goals.
Bullying in our society today is integrated through various techniques that reach different groups and that we are not always able to detect. In this book, we will describe several situations of harassment that are not so reported, but equally harmful to our society from different perspectives, and then we will carry out a dynamic for its prevention.
To do so, we will present two main characters who will act out three scenes with everyday bullying situations:
- Bullying (bullying in English) and cyberbullying
- Real estate harassment and sexual exploitation
- Financial harassment
The characters will evolve during the course of the play creating the so-called 360o circle of bullying, where the bullied person ends up being the bully if he/she does not manage to break the dynamic. To convey a message of hope, in the last scene we make an unexpected twist in the script where the two main characters can forgive each other, rebuild and move forward.
The play will be performed in the deconsecrated church of the Misericordia Center of Valencia where high school, vocational training and ESO are taught and where the UNED is located. At the end, there will be a dynamic with the audience to raise awareness and prevention of bullying and other forms of bullying.
