Algae workshop

Place: Graus Room 2 of the Casa del Alumno (4K building)
Free activity with prior registration
You will participate in a series of introductory talks on what seaweeds are and what types exist on our coast, where they are located in a historical context, what differentiates them from marine plants, and what their current uses are.
Once the theoretical talks are finished, we will carry out an activity about our project: “Algae stuff”. With visualization of samples in magnifying glass, microscope and a fun simulation of “underwater” sampling on macroalgae and phanerogam meadows.
Finally, we will carry out a seaweed tasting. In this activity, we will taste different types of fresh seaweed and seaweed products that we can introduce in our diet, with the participation of:
- Mediterranean Algae about “Current uses in biotechnology“.
- Beer Sailor about “Current uses in food“Beer Algae.
