Student Music Group “Tuna” of Industrial Technical Engineers of Alcoy
The true history of this very gallant troubadour, is lost in the night of the times. Already in the year 1886 the illustrious painter alcoyano A. Gisbert portrayed our ancestors in the oil painting entitled “L’Estudiantina”, which featured the tuna roaming the streets of Alcoy. In the first half of the twentieth century, local newspapers speak of the tuna as a group of students who postulated by the city of Alcoy.
But it will be in January 1960 when a group of students from the University School of Industrial Engineering of Alcoy, start the “Tuna de Ingenieros Técnicos Industriales de Alcoy”, being from these dates the first data, photographs and news that are found.
The “Tuna de Alcoy” grew and reached a respectable number of components, being invited Tuna in countless social events and participating in competitions and contests, getting numerous awards and distinctions.
We have carried our flag and our scholarships all over Spain, Europe and part of America, and we have always been well received wherever we have gone.
To this list of activities mentioned above must be added our daily activities such as serenades, rounds, patches and contracts, communions, weddings, bachelorette parties, bachelor parties, bridal showers and a long etc., that is, we are always there when we are requested.
In 2010 we celebrated the 50th anniversary, bringing together Students of all generations “Tunos”, which returned to relive the unforgettable moments lived with the Tuna de Alcoy.
