The university offers UPV teachers teaching through English all the support they need to:

  • Improve and maintain your level of English.
  • Develop the linguistic tools and teaching strategies you need to transfer your expert knowledge to your students in English more effectively.

teachers who will be teaching in english during the 2023/2024 academic year will have priority in enrollment.

REVISION OF TEACHING MATERIAL IN ENGLISH ONE-TO-ONE

We are here to help make your classes in English more effective. The sessions, which are one-to-one, offer individual support from an EMI trainer to revise the teaching materials you use in the classes you teach in English. We can review your course information, slides, handouts, tests and exams etc. with you and help you with any other issues you might have when teaching through English.
The sessions will be online for teachers teaching through English in Gandia and Alcoy.

B2 COURSE FOR TEACHING IN ENGLISH

English course for lecturers to help them achieve a B2 level of English with specific focus on teaching through English, academic vocabulary and discourse management.

100 hours

*Placement test required, following registration lecturers will be contacted by CDL teachers for the placement test

C1 COURSE FOR TEACHING IN ENGLISH

English course for lecturers to help them achieve a C1 level of English with specific focus on teaching through English, academic vocabulary and discourse management.

100 hours

*Placement test required, following registration lecturers will be contacted by CDL teachers for the placement test.

ACADEMIC ENGLISH COURSE FOR TEACHING IN ENGLISH

Academic English, speaking, reading and writing for lecturers to help you improve your skills and broaden your vocabulary in academic settings. A certified B2+ or C1 level is required to register in this course as the focus is academic language.

30 hours

*Language certificate required to register for this course, please send your certificate to cdl@upv.es

TEACHING METHODOLOGY WORKSHOPS IN ENGLISH B2-C1 (2 hours)

Two-hour workshops, each dealing with a specific topic related to teaching in English: student engagement, lecture discourse, intercultural communication, interaction in the classroom, lecture planning and structure, written discourse and assessment, using your voice.
