The Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) continues to increase the number of Bachelor?s degrees certified with the EUR-ACE® label of international excellence, which certifies that the studies fully meet the professional requirements in engineering.
The label, awarded by the European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE), guarantees that students are trained in a programme that meets international standards recognised by employers in Europe; it also reduces barriers to entry into master's and doctoral programmes at other universities with this label, as well as facilitating mobility.
UPV has 16 Bachelor?s degrees accredited with the EUR-ACE® label, 14 of which were recently awarded in a ceremony held at the Universitat Politècnica de València. In addition, five new Master's and Bachelor's degrees have been accredited, joining the ten that already had the label.
During the presentation of the certificates, the Rector recalled that "we are one of the most committed universities in terms of accreditation, and we are doing so successfully". He also pointed out that "these accreditations reinforce the UPV's commitment to internationalisation, which is reflected in a transversal way, both in research and teaching". The sample shows that 22% of undergraduate and Master's students come from abroad, while more than 50% of doctoral students are international.
For her part, the director of ANECA's International Quality Labels programme, Anabel Bonilla, said: "For me, the fact that this is a voluntary evaluation that involves a significant extra effort is valuable, and it is remarkable that the UPV is committed to it and does it for its students".
