DOCENTIA programme

The UPV resumes its participation in the ANECA programme, which certifies the quality of the teaching staff assessment model

ANECA has once again recognised the UPV’s participation in the DOCENTIA programme (support programme for the evaluation of teaching activity). The last technical monitoring report sent by the UPV has been recognised and gives the University the opportunity to implement the necessary changes to adapt to the new DOCENTIA model, updated in May 2021.

The vice-rector for the Organisation of Studies, Quality, Accreditation and Languages, Marival Segarra, explained at the Governing Council on 3 February the change that has taken place and what the current “monitoring process” in which the UPV finds itself means.

“The UPV has started to update the evaluation system of the teaching activity to comply with the criteria established by the new programme, so that ANECA can monitor its implementation and reinstate the DOCENTIA certification in the UPV as soon as possible, explained the Vice Chancellor Marival Segarra. The vice-rector also thanked the teaching staff and the academic heads of the departments for their high participation in the preparation of the mandatory self-report, which was introduced as a novelty this academic year 21-22 and which has reached 92%, as well as the support of AVAP, ANECA and SEPQ, and has requested the involvement of the university community to address the necessary changes as soon as possible.

The teaching activity index (IAD), which the rector’s team is working on together with the other services involved, is adapted to the requirements of DOCENTIA, is easy to understand and has a clear objective: to accompany the teaching staff in the process of improving their teaching activity. The design of the new IAD will soon be presented to the university community, and its implementation is planned for the academic year 2022-2023.
