On October 14, 2026, about 25 people took part in a guided tour of various renaturalization projects underway on the Vera campus of the Universitat Politècnica de València. The activity was organized at the request of the association Valencia for Regeneration, a social movement linked to the initiative HOPE!, with the goal of raising awareness of projects that promote biodiversity, climate change adaptation, and environmental improvements on college campuses.
During the tour, the participants visited the ETSINF’s green roof (Building 1G), a pioneering project that has transformed an underutilized terrace into a green space accessible to the university community, and they also learned about the renaturalization area located next to Building 5I, where new criteria for ecological landscape management are being implemented to promote biodiversity and reduce resource consumption.
The visit provided an opportunity to explain the objectives and results of these initiatives, which are part of the sustainability and renaturalization strategy promoted by the UPV in recent years. In the case of the ETSINF green roof, the project builds on the landscaping initiatives launched in 2024 and subsequently expanded with new measures aimed at creating spaces that are more comfortable and resilient to climate change.
These initiatives are part of a broader effort to transform the campus ecologically, based on nature-inspired solutions and new approaches to managing green spaces.
