New green space on the roof of building 1G at Vera campus

The Universitat Politècnica de València makes available to the university community a new recreation and garden area on the roof of building 1G (ETSINF) at the Vera campus, conceived as an area for relaxation, meeting and enjoyment of the outdoors.

The project has enabled the roof to be used as a landscaped terrace with adapted vegetation, shading systems and urban furnishings. The project will improve the thermal comfort and environmental quality of the surroundings, and will favour new social uses of the campus.

This new space is part of the strategy of the Vice-Rectorate for Sustainable Campus Development aimed at strengthening ecological connectivity throughout the campus and progressively adapting open spaces to climate change, incorporating nature-based solutions that contribute to the improvement of well-being and environmental conditions.

The intervention responds to a request of the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Informática (ETSINF) itself and has been developed by the UPV Infrastructure Service, whose work in this project since 2024 has been key to the materialisation and implementation of this new green area.
