As reported at the last Governing Council meeting on September 29, the Universitat Politècnica de València is facing high energy costs that far exceed the amount budgeted for 2022. (You can consult the report at the bottom of this article).
The current situation makes it necessary to take cost containment measures. These are in addition to the continuous actions and investments in energy efficiency.
In this regard, the Vice Rectorate for Sustainable Development of Campus has issued the following instructions:
- From October 6, 2022, air conditioning will only operate from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm. This instruction will result in savings of approximately €5,000/day.
- As of Monday, October 10, 2022, there will be no air conditioning in any space on campus. This instruction will result in savings of approximately €16,000/day.
These measures will be applied in the three UPV campuses, except for those spaces and facilities with special requirements or functionalities.
