TRL UP
TRL UP
TRL UP is an initiative of the Vice-Rectorate for Innovation and Transfer of the UPV (VIT page) designed to promote the valorization of research results developed by UPV research staff. The main objective is to increase their technological maturity (Technology Readiness Level – TRL) and prepare them for their transfer to the market, either through existing companies or spin-offs. It is part of the activities of UPV-Innovation (UPV-Innovation page) and is managed by the i2T Service.
It is aimed at UPV research teams with protected technologies or results or in the process of protection or registration (conditions depending on each call), with transfer potential and that need to advance in the TRL scale.
What does i2T do?

From i2T we manage the program and offer advice to assess which line of support best suits the needs of the result, we help you identify experts who can help you to raise the proposal and we monitor the action.
FAQs
What is the LRT?
It is a scale from 1 to 9 that measures the maturity level of a technology, from the conceptual idea (TRL 1) to its commercial use (TRL 9). You can find a description of what the different levels entail according to the sector in thisdocument.
Can I participate whether the technology is patented or software?
Yes, as long as it is registered and the UPV has at least 50% ownership of the rights. Check the program rules each year for additional requirements.
Can I apply for assistance if I have already obtained financing in a previous proof of concept?
No, the TRL UP does not fund technologies that have already received similar support under current IDA or IIA calls.
Who prepares the Roadmap?
An external expert in your area, selected with the support of i2T, who will collaborate with you to define the next steps towards the transfer.
Can I apply to several lines at the same time?
Yes, as long as you have a proposal for each line that meets the requirements. Each line has a specific form and documentation.
