Explora UPV

Explora UPV is an essential search engine for you to easily find knowledge and experts within the university itself. Keeping your information updated in Explora UPV multiplies the visibility of your research allowing other researchers to look for you to collaborate, and your work to have a greater impact inside and outside the university community.

Explora UPV is an open toolaccessible to any company, researcher or institution interested in seeking knowledge at the UPV.

We actively promote its use in companies, technology intermediaries and entities of the innovation ecosystem.

Google and other search engines crawl your contentand, thereforeyour research can be found without directly accessing the search engine.

If, as a result of a search in Explora UPV, the data includes your contact information, the company can contact you directly. If you prefer, you can submit your challenge through the form at R+D+i UPV Solutions also accessible from Explora UPV, and i2T will facilitate contact with related researchers.

It is the expert knowledge generated in the university that can be directly applied to solve specific social or economic problems. They are included in Explora as R&D&I Services and are registered through this form available on your intranet: Form

Registering a capability allows you to improve the visibility of your knowledge with companies, institutions and other agents of the innovation system and to position yourself to participate in conferences and seminars. UPV-Company Match. It also allows you to prove your knowledge when signing a contract or agreement.

In contrast to research lines, which have a broader, more academic focus (e.g.Medical image processing), the capabilities are focused on practical applications of university knowledge (it would go toAutomated magnetic resonance image processing for diagnostic support) and should be written in clear and simple language.

From i2T we help you

  • We optimize the writing for its subsequent localization through the Explora UPV search engine.
  • We ensure that the language is accessible to both companies and other external agents.

Recommendations for writing a capability

Title

It should reflect what problem it solves, not just what technique is used. It is the gateway to your knowledge.

“Identification of grapevine varieties for fraud control in wines with appellation of origin”.
“Genetic analysis of grapevine varieties”.

Description

It has a structure of about 3 paragraphs:

Paragraph 1: What is the problem/need?

Paragraph 2: How is this problem/need solved on a regular basis?

Paragraph 3: What does the UPV propose? Somehow it must appear: why is it better?

It should use clear language, avoiding unnecessary technicalities, and include key words to facilitate searches. It should be brief and oriented to usefulness.

Applications

It specifies what the knowledge is useful for in specific contexts. The more precise the description is, the more useful it will be for those seeking solutions.

Design of technical textiles for sectors such as automotive or health.
Textile.

Control of fraud in the production of wines with designation of origin.
Grapevine varietal identification.

Technical advantages benefits

Reflects why the capability is useful or differential:

  • What advantages does it offer from a technical or economic point of view?
  • What is the improvement over other solutions?
  • What are the savings or efficiencies?

Reduction of the time required to register new varieties in the official registry.
Detection of unique alleles.

What information can you find in Explora UPV?

Explora UPV draws on multiple internal data sources:

  • R&D projects and contracts (AGRES)
  • Scientific publications (SENIA)
  • Patents, software and know-how (LETTER)
  • Innovation and transfer news
  • Research lines of groups, centers and institutes UPV
  • Spin-offs and startups of the UPV
  • R&D Capabilities or R&D&I Services

All this information is interconnected. A project, a patent or a publication may be linked to the same knowledge, but at different stages of development or with different application approaches.

How does Explora UPV work?

Explora UPV has a search engine that crawls keywords in different internal sources of the UPV. By filtering and organizing the results, it provides relevant information about the scientific activity and the researchers involved.

How can you make your group’s knowledge visible?

Most of the data in Explora UPV is updated automatically, but there are aspects that you can optimize to improve your visibility:

  • Lines of research i2T extracts them manually from the official websites of the research structures. Make sure that the information is updated on your group’s website.
  • R&D Capabilities or R+D+I Services: They are registered through the UPV intranet. Correctly declaring your capabilities makes it easier for companies and researchers to find you.
