Under the title Landscapes of Change, first-year students in the Bachelor of Fine Arts program begin the exhibition project that brings together the work they have done in all their courses this semester. Organized into teams of five students, the project is designed as a cross-disciplinary educational experience that positions collaboration, creative experimentation, and critical thinking as the cornerstones of contemporary art education.
The initiative has required a high degree of coordination among faculty members teaching different subjects and groups, as well as among all participating students. This collaborative effort has helped establish a teaching approach based on continuous assessment, progressive learning, and the development of key cross-disciplinary skills for professional and creative fields.
The public presentation of the projects will take place in Room T4 from May 25 to June 5, with each group having two days. On the first day, the exhibition will be set up, while the second day will be dedicated to the presentation and public defense of the projects.
It is important to note that the exhibition is the result of a project focused on teaching improvement and innovation, coordinated under the direction of the Institute of Educational Sciences (ICE) at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. The project’s objectives are aimed at promoting the role of art as a tool for understanding and raising awareness of contemporary environmental issues:
To enhance students’ ability to identify and analyze environmental issues through creative processes related to artistic production.
To encourage the creation of artistic works that demonstrate a deep and critical understanding of the climate emergency, thereby helping to raise public awareness of this issue.
To develop essential cross-disciplinary skills, such as critical thinking, effective communication, and collaborative work, that enhance the students’ well-rounded education.
To encourage the organization of exhibitions and activities open to the general public, with the aim of promoting interdisciplinary dialogue and raising public awareness of sustainability issues.
Improve student motivation and engagement with sustainability-related topics, with progress measured through satisfaction surveys and self-assessment processes.
Assess the overall impact of the project through the implementation of specific tools that measure the development of skills and the level of awareness regarding real and current environmental issues. These results provide a framework that guides the planning and execution of the project, ensuring alignment with the proposed educational and social objectives. Ongoing and systematic evaluation will allow for adjustments to pedagogical strategies to maximize the scope and effectiveness of the intervention.

2. The poster created by student Mélani García Gaspart (1AD) has been selected as the winning entry in the poster contest for the Cross-Curricular Project in the first year of the Bachelor of Fine Arts program.
In this context, and to encourage reflection on the concept of landscape, which was addressed from its aesthetic, social, and environmental perspectives; the event was held on January 27 3rd Symposium on History and Artistic Expression at the Auditori Alfons Roig. The symposium presentations were aimed at strengthening students’ ability to translate critical and self-critical reflection into artistic proposals with social impact. The event also highlighted the role of art as a tool for raising awareness and driving transformation, in connection with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and active learning methodologies applied to contemporary creation.

The exhibition presents the final outcome of this cross-curricular project, bringing together the proposals developed throughout the school year. The exhibition highlights the continuity between the experimentation carried out within the exhibition space itself and the realization of the artworks.
