ThePolytechnic University of Valencia through the Cultural Action Area of the Vice-rectorate for Art, Science, Society and Technology, presents the 21st edition of the Urban Art Encounter PolinizaDOS 2026 which will be held from May 11 to 15 in the spaces of the Vera de València Campus.
In this edition, the Encounter proposes a reflection on spatiality, with the aim of going beyond the mural as a pictorial format and contributing to the construction of a spatial and architectural sense. To this end, an expanded approach is proposed from artistic research, understood as a tool for the configuration of spatialities, loaded with discursive meaning.
In this context, PolinizaDOS once again invites artists linked to a Latin American city. On this occasion, the invited city is Lisbon, represented by the collective Os Espacialistas. Founded in 2008, its work is articulated from a theoretical and practical research on the transdisciplinary relationships between art, architecture and education. His practice is materialized in projects of artistic accompaniment in works of art and architecture, as well as in his own proposals that include architectural interventions, scenic spaces, photographic essays, performative installations, happenings and performances.
The line-up is completed with the artists selected by public call: Malditas Ternura whose work explores the sensibility of collective historiographies; Manolo Mesa focusing on the relationship between the object and the tradition of intimate spaces; Giulio Vesprini which investigates abstraction through compositions with a strong graphic character; Alexandros Simopoulos whose practice is situated between painting and conceptualism referring to space; and Cristina Reyes which approaches the mural from a narrative and symbolic approach, as new ways of seeing the world.
Likewise, in line with the support to the internal talent of the Faculty of Fine Arts, the jury awarded a second prize toJ. Warxwhose work stands out for its discursive approach to contemporary situations.
