On the occasion of the publication of his book ‘in_utility: art as education’ and the exhibition ‘(insert title here)’, Luis Camnitzer will give a lecture on Wednesday, May 15th, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. in the Alfons Roig auditorium of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
‘After looking back over perhaps too many decades of my artistic activity, I see more clearly almost everything that would have helped me but I did not learn during my studies. I think the most important thing I had to learn, late and by my own efforts, is that the word ‘art’ is not sacred and that it is used to hinder a way of knowing that is more complex and enriching than the conventional one.’
