Open Doors: Theatrical workshop

The Aula de artes escénicas de la Universitat Politècnica de València presents the work being done in its Workshop I: initiation to theater. We will see a sample of improvisation exercises and a sample of theatrical texts from various sources in the process of development.

  • La mort i la doncella. Adaptation of the fable of traditional Valencian folklore. Death and the maiden makes us travel through universal existential elements: power, wealth and life or the lack of all of them.
  • Yellow. Written by Juan Mayorga. A blind man returns to the house that was his with a sighted companion who helps him with the oral description of the place. The speaker leads the blind man on a journey into a past that appears to him different from how he remembered it. Where is the truth then: in what is said or in what is remembered?
  • The cornice. Based on a text by Juan Vicente López. Two men meet on the seventh floor ledge of a building. Their intentions were originally very different.
  • Him and her. Text adapted from the homonymous short stories by Agustín Mariano Santoro. Two stories in parallel, His and Hers. His is a passionate love story, hers is almost a love story.
  • The Separation. Everything was normal, their life was normal, parenting was normal, their jobs were normal, until normality was no longer enough.
