In 2024, the dana surprised us on the verge of celebrating the 30th anniversary of our festival. NOVEMBRE JAZZ UPV and the tragedy left us in silence. But, after the extraordinary concerts of last spring, which allowed us to recover the postponed program, comes a new NOVEMBER.
We look back and we are satisfied with the work done, we believe that we have become an obligatory and recognized appointment of the autumn jazz in Valencia, Gandia and Alcoi, and we have carried out an important task of supporting the emerging Valencian talent, in addition to hosting numerous international stars.
The Monday 3The festival is opened by the thriving UPV Jazz Ensemblea recent proposal on the Valencian scene, in orchestra format, and then we welcome a group of talents developed around the Valencian campus of Berklee College of Music led by the wonderful singer and songwriter Alida McKeon.
As a postponed part of the extraordinary programming that we wanted to offer in 2024, finally arrives this year, also to the Fine Arts Faculty Auditorium, the tuesday 4Californian saxophonist, the powerful saxophonist David Murray leading his quartet, a group with which he vindicates his validity and renews energies, which in his case still seem inexhaustible. Between roots and avant-garde, in his group stands out the pianist from Madrid Marta Sancheza resident of New York.
The Valencian singer Ester Andujar is in a sweet moment of his career and he comes to prove it with the Wednesday 5 to the Vera Campus, with his luxury group, and a last disc, Inner songsin which she achieves a delicate balance between the vocal jazz tradition and her own concerns as a composer and lyricist.
With an already very recognizable style, which is beginning to gain many followers in Valencia, and in different parts of the world, the pianist of Korean origin SongAh Chae presents theThursday 6He will perform at the Vera Campus, his lyrical and hypnotic music, leading a trio that sounds like a single voice. It is the most intense day of the festival because, also on the same Thursday, at the Alcoi Campus, will act Ester Andujarat the Jazz Club El Mussol in “La Mujer Barbuda”, and, at the Aula Magna of the Gandia campus, we will count with the performance of Xaloq an international quintet based in Rotterdam, led by the saxophonist Pau Jordá which reviews Valencian music from the point of view of contemporary jazz.
Finally, the friday 7 the group Xaloq, at the Vera Campus, will bring a brilliant end to the program of the 30 NOVEMBRE JAZZ Festival UPV 2025.
