Science outreach

The Universitat Politècnica de València is committed to the dissemination of science, especially in the case of children, who will be the researchers of the future. Through workshops, competitions and, especially, through the pioneering initiative Dones de Ciència, which gives visibility to women scientists, the UPV stimulates interest in science and strengthens the relationship between the university and society. Thousands of boys and girls have already participated in these outreach activities and these are the activities carried out by the Unit for Scientific Culture and Innovation (UCC+i). It is supported by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) of the Ministry of Science and Innovation.

Dones de Ciència

Dones de Ciència

They are large murals to make visible and pay tribute to women scientists. Most of them are located in educational centers. In this way, Dones de Ciència offers a unique route in our country starring pioneering women who broke barriers and have been and are references, always through the eyes of prominent artists in the field of urban mural painting.

CiènciaLab

CiènciaLab

CiènciaLab is an initiative focused on awakening vocations among secondary school students through scientific, technological and artistic workshops taught by university professors at the UPV facilities. These activities stimulate creativity and provide a unique experience to approach science and technology.

Inventions Fair

It is a scientific exhibition that brings together prototypes and models developed in the laboratories of the UPV. The event, which is held every two years, is complemented by workshops and activities open to the public and that allow to approach the world of science and research in a practical and fun way.

Premios de investigación

Research awards

The Universitat Politècnica de València values the research activity, dissemination and knowledge transfer of its research staff through these awards which include five categories to recognize research career, best publications, media impact, innovative activity in scientific communication and dissemination, as well as knowledge transfer.

Cocina con ciencia

Cooking with science

These workshops aim to promote healthy eating among children, with science as the protagonist. In addition, schoolchildren discover some cooking techniques, which come from research laboratories and get into the binomial science and cooking.

Draw science at Christmas

Uniting science and technology in the framework of the celebration of the Christmas holidays. An activity organized for the sons and daughters of the university community aged between 3 and 14 years. The winning drawings are used to congratulate the holidays and disseminate the scientific activity of the UPV.
