Requests from Other Libraries

The Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery Service supplies documents from the UPV collection to other libraries, both national and foreign, public or private.

How can documents be requested?

The requesting libraries can send their request from the GTBIB system, the NILDE form or by email to: prest@bib.upv.es

Before making the request for documents, it is recommended to check the stock, in the case of a journal article, or its location in PoliBuscador by indicating in the request the web address of the register or the document symbol.

Works excluded from Interlibrary Loans:

  • Complete e-books.

  • Unabridged reproductions of books or journal fascicles.

  • Very recent or Recommended Bibliography documents that may be in high demand.

  • Documents located in Departments or Research Institutes.

  • All those works which, without belonging to any of the above categories, it is considered appropriate to exclude.

Cooperation with other Libraries:

The UPV Library forms part of:

  • REBIUN’s Scientific Article Compensated Exchange Group (ICAC), meaning the supply of articles to these institutions will be free of charge.

  • The Consortium of University Libraries of the Valencian Community (BUVAL), which allows both interlibrary loans and the supply of documents free of charge among BUVAL members.

  • The NILDE network (Network for Inter-Library Document Exchange), a collaborative network of libraries to share resources created by the Library of the Italian National Research Council.

Payment methods and fees:

For the remaining Spanish libraries, REBIUN fees apply, although payment with IFLA vouchers and the establishment of reciprocity or free-of-charge relationships, or compensation accounts is allowed.

Foreign libraries can make payments by means of IFLA vouchers (international inter-library payment system) and reciprocity of fees applies. Reciprocity or free-of-charge relationships, or compensation accounts, can also be established.
