Last December 2nd we received in AVM the visit of the artist, professor and researcher José Vicente Martín Martínez, member of the research group “Media Archaeology and Artistic Practice” (MAAP) of the Miguel Hernández University of Elche.
Recovery of the devices left behind
From the artistic point of view, José Vicente explores the way in which narrative structures shape our perception of reality and the way in which individual and collective imaginaries are configured by rhetoric and media technologies.
In recent years he has been focusing his work as a researcher in areas such as media archaeology, narrative theory and cultural identity, establishing in the process relationships between them and artistic practice, understanding how devices already forgotten by technological progress can be recovered with the aim of generating new diagrams and forms of visual poetry, giving light, through experimentation, to new uses in devices that originally did not contemplate them.
