The UPV increases the number of university master’s degrees and bachelor’s degrees internationally accredited with the prestigious EUR-ACE® seal of quality.

The Universitat Politècnica de València continues adding certified degrees with the international seal of excellence EUR-ACE®., which certifies that the studies are fully compliant with the professional requirements in the field of engineering.

The seal, which grants the European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE), guarantees students training in a program that complies with international standards recognized by employers in Europe; it also reduces barriers to entry into masters and doctoral programs at other universities that have this seal, as well as facilitating mobility.

Thanks to these awards, the following advantages will be available to those recognized:

  • It is internationally recognized and facilitates academic and professional mobility.
  • For engineering students and graduates, it ensures that the EUR-ACE certified program meets high European and international standards and is recognized by employers in Europe.
  • For employers, it ensures that the knowledge, understanding and practical skills of candidates meet international standards for engineering education.
  • For universities, it is an additional verification of the high quality of education in engineering degrees and provides an incentive for prospective students to choose a program with this certificate.

The event took place in the auditorium of the rectorate at 11 am, with the presence of the Rector of the university, José Esteban Capilla Romá; The Vice-Rector for the Organization of Studies, Quality, Accreditation and Languages, Marival Segarra Oña; The head of ANECA’s International Quality Assurance Program, Dr. Anabel Bonilla Calero and the General Director of the Valencian Agency for Assessment and Prospective (AVAP), Mr. Francisco Javier Oliver Villarroya.

Recognized titles

The UPV has 16 graus accredited with the EUR-ACE® label, of which 14 have recently received the certificate, in an event held at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. In addition, five new master’s degrees have been accredited, which are added to the five that already have the seal.

During the ceremony for the awarding of the certificates, the rector recalled that “we are one of the universities that are most committed to accreditation and, moreover, we areamb èxit“. He also pointed out that “these accreditations reinforce the UPV’s commitment to internationalization, reflected in a transversal way, both in research and in training”. As an example, 22% of the students, between bachelor’s and master’s degrees, are from outside Spain, while in the case of doctoral studies, more than 50% are foreigners.

On her part, the person in charge of the international quality assurance program of the ANECA, Anabel Bonilla, stressed: “For me it is very valuable that this is a voluntary assessment that involves an important extra effort, and it is noteworthy that the UPV supports it and does it for its students”.
