The European Sustainable Mobility Week is held this year from September 16 to 22, an initiative that started in 2002 in favour of protecting the environment, to which the Universitat Politècnica de València will join again in an active way.
The purpose of promoting more sustainable mobility habits has been present throughout the seven days, although it has been made more evident with the “Car-free day at the UPV“. On Thursday, September 19, we insisted on minimizing the presence of cars and other motor vehicles on the three campuses as much as possible and rewarded with a gift to those who entered the campuses early in the morning in a sustainable way: 3,000 UPV shoelaces were distributed among the members of the community.
The campaign, which promotes a change of behaviour in favour of active mobility, public transport and other clean and intelligent transport solutions, is aligned with the UPV’s environmental commitments, reflected in its Strategic Plan for Sustainable Mobility 2023-2027.
