First PV plant at Vera campus operating at full capacity

The 910 kW photovoltaic installation for self-consumption, which was tendered in April 2023, was completed in the first half of 2024. According to the head of the Infrastructure Service in an interview with PV Magazine, the most significant technical challenge was installing a general zero-discharge system at the campus entrance at medium voltage, to maximize the use of the generated energy.

The facilities across the 11 campus buildings were installed between May and June 2024, with each building equipped with its own zero-discharge inverter. In July, the building-specific zero-discharge inverters were disconnected once the general zero-discharge system was connected, allowing surplus energy from one building to be utilized by nearby buildings on the campus.

Given that the Vera campus has a minimum power consumption of between 2.6 MW and 2.8 MW, there are no surpluses even on holidays, so the installation of storage batteries is not planned.

Details on the management of this project and its performance on a typical weekday or holiday in July 2024 are available in the attached infographic. Real-time production viewers will be made available to the community in the near future.
