Next Thursday we will have in the ETSIADI different partners of the project “Cerámica de Chulucanas”, among which Peruvian ceramists who benefit directly from the action. This week they will participate with Valencian artisans in the co-creation and manufacture of various pieces that will be exhibited soon at the Crafts Center of the Valencian Community. The Drawing Department teachers Carla Alcalá Badias and Manuel Martínez Torán were in Peru, working with two communities of ceramists from Chulucanas and La Encantada. The reason for coming to our School is to make visible and disseminate the results and benefits of the project in the university community. The project seeks to highlight the social and territorial impact of the consortium action and the specific contribution of topics such as design and technology, of which our professors of the Chair of Crafts of the Universitat Politècnica de València are specialists. The project Innovating and revaluing traditions to improve the competitiveness of Chulucanas ceramics, financed by the GVA, in its call Alliances of the Development Cooperation 2024 program. The Mainel Foundation, FIAD, University of Piura, CITE Chulucanas, the company Mobilitas and the Universitat Politècnica de València participate in it in a consortium.
