The Asociación Sostenibilidad y Arquitectura (ASA) announces ASAcción 2026, an international ideas competition aimed at students and young architects, focused on the role of public space in the face of climate emergency.
Under the slogan “Beyond business as usual: public spaces in the face of climate emergency”, the call proposes to reflect on public space as ecological, social and caring infrastructure, capable of responding to risk scenarios, extreme heat and floods, and of sustaining daily life in contexts of uncertainty.
The competition is divided into two phases. In a first intensive day, ASAtón, the teams must formulate a conceptual proposal in a limited time. Subsequently, the selected teams will develop their projects in depth, incorporating environmental, social, construction and energy criteria.
ASAcción 2026 offers an opportunity to test new ways of designing with care, sustainability and territorial responsibility, promoting an architecture committed to contemporary problems.
The call is open to international teams made up of students and young professionals. Prizes of up to 2,000 euros will be awarded.
