The campus is launching a market featuring locally grown organic fruits and vegetables.
With the aim of promoting a model of responsible and sustainable consumption, the Gandia campus of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) is launching an organic market. This new initiative aims to bring “organic, locally sourced, and zero-kilometer products to the university community,” explains Victoria Torres, the campus’s assistant director of quality.
For this occasion, the following will be participating: Horta El Forcall, which offers fresh, organically grown produce using environmentally friendly practices.
This will make it easier for the university community to access seasonal fruits and vegetables while also helping to support local agriculture and promote more mindful and sustainable consumption habits.
The campus organic market was launched with the intention of becoming a long-term initiative. According to the assistant director, the plan is to hold the market every two weeks, on Mondays, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. This initiative joins other efforts promoted by the UPV, such as the Agroecological Market on the Vera campus, which serves as a model in the university community.
Go ahead and fill your shopping cart with local, fresh, and organic products! The Monday, October 19, between 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., we look forward to seeing you at the Ágora on the Gandia campus.
